When the temperatures are regularly reaching between 43 and 49 degrees by midday, it’s best to do your outside moving about either very early, or very late. Here in the UAE, malls become crowded and bustling after around 5pm every day and that doesn’t suit me. For one thing, I’ve got to be home to close my free ranging hens in before dark, and for another, I don’t encourage my daughter to stay up too late, even on the summer school holidays. So, if I go to a mall, I go in the morning, when there’s plenty of room for walking without jostling and queuing without too long a wait to pay your phone bill. This photo was taken at Manar Mall – my favourite in Ras Al Khaimah. My banner pic at the top of the blog is Manar Mall at night from the jetty on the creek at the back of the mall.
