Okay, I’ll come clean – I somehow got the word ‘zigzag‘ mixed up with ‘criss-cross’ when I was out with my camera today. The latter was what I had in mind when I snapped these eye-catching hand woven baskets against a white-washed wall at The Ulster Folk Museum in Cultra, Co Down. It poured with rain throughout our visit to this amazing outdoor, living museum; hence the very wet, but beautiful cobblestones. By way of an excuse for my zigzagging, criss-crossing thinking process, here is a definition of one term which I think serves perfectly well for the other also (Courtesy of Merriam-Webster online dictionary).
criss·cross verb \ˈkris-ˌkrȯs\
: to form a pattern on (something) with lines that cross each other
: to go from one side of (something) to the other side and come back again
